The word culture derives from the Latin verb colere, “CULTIVATE”.
The use of this term was then extended to those behaviors that imposed a “cure for the gods”, from which
the term “cult” and to indicate a set of knowledge.
Today we can give a general definition of culture, meaning it as a system of knowledge, opinions, beliefs, customs and behaviors that characterize a particular human group; a historical legacy which as a whole defines the relationships within that social group and those with the outside world.
